Continued Fall 2011

The girls at work decided we needed to have a "Girls Night" Halloween party and eat lots of yummy food as well as watch "Hocus Pocus."
Jodi hosted at her beautiful home because Halloween is her all time favorite. Her house was decked out! It's like she invented Halloween.
We decided that since we were going to be watching a movie on the back yard projector that a full out costume would be too much. So we had a mask/hat party. The food was great, the company was great, and I won a prize for my mask!

Fall 2011

The other day my mother in law asked me "Aubs has your blog posting been slacking much?"
Haha. I laughed, the funny thing is I actually take a TON of pictures, I've just been doing the everyday life
where I take a pic and journal about it every single day. After doing that, I'd rather pinterest then blog.
So here is a quick catch up of October, then hopefully I'll get November caught up this afternoon.

Garrett ran the St. George marathon for the second year in a row. His knee had been hurting him so it
was a very emotional finish. His family and I stood at the finish line and cried as he came running in.
They say the marathon is so much more emotional then physical and I believe every bit of that after this
years marathon. He's already talking about next year...

6

It's become an unsaid tradition to make a trip to VEGAS for our anniversary. Our first date was to Vegas, so that's become "our thing."
Every anniversary except one has been spent in Vegas (the one we didn't go there, we were in Lake Powell)
Friday afternoon we headed down. Garrett planned the whole trip. He booked the room, show tickets, he did it all.
We checked into our hotel room, ( I would have preferred to MOVE in) and we were like two red necks that had never been out of a small town. We were in awe at our room. After the initial coolness wore off, we went to hit the strip to do some shopping and get some grub.

Saturday we woke up, went car shopping (I'm still without a car from July) and could find everything we wanted, just didn't want to have to pay for. haha. After that, we headed back to the hotel to hit the pool. Again, we were two red necks as we were surrounded by beautiful people wearing their bikini's and high heels. After catching the last bit of summer sun we went to get ready for the show- La Reve. It was great. I was sad to leave our room to come home.
Happy SIX babe.

My hot hubby with braces...

I wanted to try and do something different for Garrett's birthday this year. We always just have the family over, eat pizza, have ice cream cake and that's great and all, but I wanted to do something out of routine. I'd been working on a golf quilt for Garr for quite some time so that was the inspiration behind the whole party. GOLF THEME
The night before his party I had my friend Karalee come over to help me make golf ball cake pops. They were darling if I say so myself.
For his birthday we had golf "club" sandwhiches, potato salad, watermelon, green salad and the only thing Garrett will drink now he doesn't drink pop - Hi-C orange from McDonald's. We went and bought the drink and had it in a big jug. I bought bubbles for the kids to play with since our house gets crowded with everyone I thought it would be fun for them to play outside.
We had such a fun time. We had our family over, some of our friends stopped by, and the cake pops were a hit! So glad Garrett's party went well. I can't believe how fast time is flying.
Happy 28 babe!

Summer Fun

The month of July we were probably gone just as much as we were home.

We started the beginning of the month with a Trip to Lake Powell with our friends Darin and Courtney and her family the Glendennings. We celebrated the 4th with some sparkler fun. I sold my car! Since I was 16 the honda civic was my "dream car," I sold it to my little sister and we have yet to buy a new one. We also went to some baseball games to watch Garr's brother Jake.
We took a VERY last minute trip to Cali for the weekend. We went to dinner Friday night and at around 8:30 p.m. decided to head down. Not a good idea to do this when you don't have a hotel to stay in. We drove around until about 5 a.m. looking for a place to sleep. After a day at the beach, we were ready to find a new hotel, thank goodness for hotwire!

Settle Family Reunion. We went up to Springville for my moms side of the family reunion. I honestly can't remember the last time we were ALL together, which is sad. The day we drove up we went to CPK and had lunch with one of my mom's best friends Patti.
The next morning we went to Jolly's Ranch and spent the day playing horse shoes, washers, and volleyball. Ate some yummy food and took a group picture. Wow how our family has grown over the year.

KFR - aka Kendall Family Reunion!!! This was our SEVENTH year together going to Lake Powell for our annual trip. We woke up at the crack of dawn every morning for the best water. Rick brought the wave runners this time too and we had a blast on those! We found some old orange life jackets and wore them to Antelope. You should have seen the looks we got! It was so funny! Until next year - Long live KFR!!! ;)

Lake Powell

That's right folks, Lake Powell. You know what that means? Summer is officially here! We were lucky enough to be invited back to attend the Adam's Annual family trip. These guys know how to have a good time. We laughed so hard at all their stories, made new friends, and are so grateful to Rick and Cheryl for inviting us once again to their houseboat.
Wednesday night after work we loaded up the Honda, grabbed a couple foot longs from Subway and made our journey to the glorious Lake Powell. We arrived after dark to find the lower parking is closed. WHAT? That has never happened in our seven years of going to Powell together. We parked what seemed forever away and there wasn't a cart in sight. We filled our hands as full as we could and started to walk down to the houseboat. Thankfully, we found one about halfway down the path. We arrived to the houseboat as everyone was getting ready for bed. We layed our our "plush" mats, crawled into our "cozy" sleeping bags and got some shut eye. Sun up comes early.

Thursday at sun up, all the early birds are up to catch them some waves. As Garrett calls the early morning water - BUTTER.
We went to Warm Creek to wakeboard then headed back for breakfast. After our tummies were full and a morning nap, we were ready to hit the lake! We busted the surf boards out first, Jordan and Christian even went double. We came back to the house boat and played on the slide, jumped off the side, and swam in the um, warm? water.
Friday we headed to Cookie Jar. We blew up FOUR tubes and loaded about 12 people on them. I've never laughed so hard before. You know you've been tubing when you come back with a couple bruises. Small price to pay.
We found a rock sticking out of the water and decided to swim to it. Later that night it was time for a round of B-I-N-G-O Royal Carribean style. And it wouldn't be Lake Powell without a big bowl of homemade ice cream. We were pooped. We played hard and slept hard. I slept like a rock.

Saturday was a quiet morning. You could tell the effects of Lake Powell were wearing on everyone. We packed a lunch and headed back to Cookie Jar. We owned that cove. We were the only two boats in there. We took our turns wake boarding and surfing, everyone needed to use the floating pooper, and Garrett decided he wanted to start his wakeboarding from there. We threw out the QUAD tubes again and were bounced around till our ams fell off. We headed to Antelope for the best pizza around to stuff our faces.

Since Fathers Day was the next day, Garrett and I decided to call it early and head out that night. We made the hike to our car and arrived home around midnight.
Thank you Lake Powell, you are always good to us.
Thank you all of the Adams family, we had a blast. Hopefully we'll see you on the cruise!
