Part of Being a Frei

Part of being a Frei means being in the good ole outdoors - a lot. If it's helping dig trenches and pulling weeds, working down at the farm, or one of the biggest things these boys do, it's riding for cows. I never knew the extent of what it meant to ride for cows until Lainee asked me if I wanted to go with her to watch the boys push cows. This gave me a whole new perspective of hard work. All day long in the blazing heat, horseback, moving cows from one place to another. Garrett is such a hard worker and I'm grateful for the dicipline this has taught him. He is so handy to have around the house; if anything breaks, he figures out how to fix it. This was a great experience to be a part of and I'm glad I know what he does when he says he's "riding for cows."
After the hard work, they were ready to play. Pres and Landon went over to the watering trough to see the gold fish, and once again the boys have to have a comptetion. They got into a fishing competiton to see who could catch the most or biggest fish. Next thing I know Garrett has on rubber boots and is IN the trough. He caught a fish with the leftover sandwhich bag and the little kids went crazy when he showed them. He is so good with the kids, I know he will be a great dad to our kids, when the time comes.

Viva Mexican Rivera Cruise!
We left from Los Angeles, California. It was a windy overcast day and we were ready to head south for warm weather! I've never been on a cruise before so Garrett was excited to see my reaction when I saw how big the boat was. It was HUGE! I thought for sure I would get lost on it. When we got on the boat, we went and checked out our living quarters for the next week and then it was off to explore the boat. There was an Ice Skating rink, Casino, rock climbing wall, mini golf, library, dance club, pool after pool, there was so much to see!
With a loud blow of the horn, we were ready to head out to the open sea. The Coast Guard escorted us out of the harbor and we were ready to set sail! Mexico here we come!
Day at sea. We explored the boat and once we had found where everything was, we found our favorite hang out spot! All you can eat soft serve ice cream. Ya baby! Then we went and played suffle board. We played in couples and once I got the hang of it, I did ok. Garrett is quite the competitor so after a few warm up rounds, the real competition was on. Luckily, we won! Go team! Then we went back to our rooms to freshen up and go to the first formal night.
Cabo San Lucas
When we got to Cabo, we went on a Glass Bottom boat to a place called "Lover's Beach." We rented snorkle gear and we were off to play in the ocean. The cool thing about this beach is you could walk to one side and there was the Pacific Ocean and then on the other side was the Sea of Cortez. We played in two different bodies of water so that was pretty neat. When it was time to eat, I was a little worried of how sanitary things were so we headed to the only American place we could find - Hooters.

Mazatlan
When we arrived in Mazatlan, it was crazy! We were surrounded by people asking us to do different adventures. Everything happened so quickly, next thing we knew the boys were off to go deep sea fishing, and me and Jess were on a Trolly Tour of the city. Let's just say it was an "Interesting" day and we will always be able to look back and laugh at it. When we got to the boat it was another golf adventure and I scored better then Garrett! Getting him to admit it is another thing...
Puerta Viarta
Last stop before we head back to U.S. Soil. It was a hot day in Mexico. We ate at yet another American food place -Hard Rock Cafe and then spent the day at the beach. Tried to soak up every last bit of sun before we head back to the cold. There were sand sculptures everywhere, it's amazing the things that people can build out of sand. Back on the boat the boys went to the rock climbing wall and then it was off to eat more food!
Two days at sea - We layed out, ate lots of soft serve ice cream, watched the belly flop competition, and went ice skating. Yes, ice skating. They had shows every night for entertainment like comedians, ice skating shows, impressionists, as well as game shows that involved the audience. I have never laughed so hard in my life. All in all we would call this an "interesting" vacation. We had lots of laughs and will always remember it.

Happy 24th Birthday Aubrey
Nothing says you're a grown up like having to work on your birthday. Luckily for me, this year my birthday was on a Friday so I got to drag it out all weekend long! Friday when I came home from work and Garrett had a present waiting on the counter for me. He got me a new camera (perfect timing to take it on the cruise!) We went and at lunch at the Olive Garden, he took me to see a super intense movie called Taken and then we hung out just the two of us. On Sunday, Grandma Kendall had a birthday party for me too. Grandma always makes us the dinner of our choice and then dessert too. It was a great birthday.

Update
It's pretty sad that when life is so busy and you have to make a check list every day so that nothing gets missed and on that list it says" MAKE NEW POST ON BLOG." It's been a while and I've had ideas of posting my new years resolutions, which, by the way is one of mine - keep blog updated so I can print for scrapbook. haha. Oximoron isn't it? Anyway, here's the update on life for those who care what the Frei's have been up to.
We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. We were able to spend lots of time with family, which is always great. We rocked out to rock band at my parents house for a lot of the time, I must say I am quite the drummer. We also started the New Year out right with a super clean house! We spend an entire day cleaning and de-junking. Awesome!
Anyone else watch Oprah's Best Life Week? I took a clip board and wrote down things I found helpful and from there I made my goal list for the year and my "new years resolutions." I'll have to post that one later because my time allowal for this post is up! haha.
Just one last thing, we just booked a cruise! I've never been on one before so I am SUPER EXCITED! Garrett's been on cruises before, so he's just excited to go on a vacation. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for the cruise experience?
